In our usecase we have colleagues that are scheduled for oncall during the holidays. However, they shall only react to P1 alerts from 9 to 5.
I can easily configure the happy case (alerts during office hours are notified, alerts out of office hours are not notified).
I fail to configure the case where an alert starts firing during the night and is still firing when the oncall period of the next person begins (09:00). Of course we want to have a notification for this person when the "shift" starts that he is informed about this firing alert.
How can this be done?
I tried combinations with different time windows in routing, on-call schedule, notifications and quiet time but I never got a notification when the oncall schedule started and a P1 alert was already firing.
Thanks a lot for any support.
I have received feedback from the opsgenie support.
The requirement can be fulfilled by configuring Notification policies ("Teams" -> "Policies" -> "Notification Policies")
There an alert notification can be delayed. I now delayed all alerts to be notified at 09:00 the next working day. This solved the issue for me.
Can show us your rules of the on-call scheduling?
Kind Regards,
Howard

OnCall started at 11:00AM but alerts already firing before (P1,ECE,PROD) have not been notified when 11:00AM elapsed.
