Is there a way to manually alert some/all team members?

Hello,

We have a data center without a backup generator that relies on a UPS for about 3 hrs. We have alerts that send to Opsgenie when the data center moves to UPS power from city power.

When this occurs, we are looking for a MANUAL way to alert some or all of the members on the Opsgenie team in order to notify them through the Opsgenie platform, while still accounting for vacation/sick time. Is this possible through an Opsgenie action or maybe even the Slack integration?

Thanks for any future help/suggestions!

Hi @Julian Maze ,

You can create alerts manually in both the Opsgenie dash, as well through a Slack integration.

Within Opsgenie:

^ You'd probably want to send these alerts to one of your Opsgenie team's and let that team's On-call tab manage which users are notified:

Through Slack: https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/integrate-opsgenie-with-slack-app/

You can connect your Opsgenie with Slack through an integration, and executing the /genie connect command in Slack.

You'd then be able to create Opsgenie alerts in Slack using a command like this:

/genie alert this is alert message for integration team, product team

Hope that helps!
