We have a usecase to group similar alerts getting triggered from AppD. Is there a way to group similar alerts? So that our Oncall will not receive any notifications for same alert for every 10 mins.
That should be possible depending on your plan. Deduplication is a feature offered by Opsgenie that increases the count of an alert.
Deduplication is dependent on the alias field, and you can configure what parses in this field under the integration's Advanced tab - but this tab is only available for the Opsgenie Standard and Enterprise plans, or the JSM/O Premium and Enterprise plans:
The way Opsgenie groups similar alerts is with the Alias field. If a new event comes in with the same alias as an alert that is currently open, no notification will occur, and the counter on the open alert will be incremented.
You could sent the message in the alias field, but a better solution is to send a string that uniquely identifies that type of alert.
