How to notify multiple teams using a single integration?

Edvin Musinovic July 25, 2023

I apologize if this was asked and answered before,

I need to send Opsgenie notifications to multiple teams (for the same alert), using only one Icinga integration. I see multiple mechanisms that talk about routing to different teams - integration configuration, global and team policies, routing rules, forwarding rules, escalation policies, …

What is the best way to accomplish this? Is it even possible, having one integration, to have multiple teams notified for the same alert?

Thank you!

Hi @Edvin Musinovic

Thank you for reaching out!  It is possible if your Opsgenie plan (Standard or Enterprise plans) allows for global integrations, that is an integration that you can create from Settings > Integrations and that the integration is not assigned to any team.  This would then give you the option to add to the Responders field (under the Alert Fields section of a Create Alert action) multiple teams.

The following community response gives a detailed explanation of how it is done:

Thank you Wei, I will test this solution and report back.

@Wei Wung , this suggestion worked.

One thing though - it seems that team policy doesn't get checked in a case like this. We use team policies to modify the incoming alert priority levels, and then the team's routing rules apply. However in this case, I had to modify the routing rule to compensate for what the policy usually does.

Thank you for your help.
