How to filter Int and Stage Alerts to Email only?

One team is notified overnight for the lower environments (Int & Stage) from the integrations they have set at the moment. They would like to have these two environments only notify them by email only.

Do I need to create a rule within OpsGenie for each team member and how? Or does an alert need to be created within OpsGenie integration section? Or both and what does that look like?

Alert and Notification polices, both globally and at the team level, control:

  • The way the alert is created
  • Who is notified
  • When they are notified

The only thing that controls HOW they are notified (Email, SMS, Voice, etc.) is each user's personal notification rules. A couple of ways to do this:

  • Have every team member setup their own targeted notification rules for these alerts.
  • If they already have rules in place to only email low-priority (P5, for instance) alerts, you can use a team alert policy to downgrade the priority of these alerts to a P5.
