Is there a way to enforce tagging an alert when the oncall person closes it? We are gathering metrics for actionable and non-actionable alerts and asking teams to tag alerts as such while closing. It is difficult for teams to remember to tag when closing. How can we enforce it?
Thanks!
Hi @Jyoti Soma !
There isn't a way to enforce that tags be added to an alert when a user closes it. I believe we have a feature request for something similar that I can add you to.
Depending on your use-case, and which tag(s) should be added to the alert, you could set-up a custom solution to have tags added to the alert via API automatically when an alert is closed.
You could leverage Opsgenie Edge Connector (OEC) to trigger a custom script to add the tags to the alert via API when an alert is closed. This would require writing a custom script, and installing/configuring OEC to execute that script whenever an alert is closed in Opsgenie.
Thanks,
Samir
Thank you, Samir! I would like to be added to the related feature request.
The options to add tags via API or OEC may not work accurately for us as teams need to look at each alert to analyze if it is actionable or non-actionable. I will however share about ti with our teams to see if they can use it where applicable.
Thanks,
Jyoti
