Hello,

I am trying to configure the alert based on its repetition within a desired time period,

for example sent the alert notification when it occurs 5 times within 30 minutes, etc.

Is it possible to achive this?

Hi @İlker Demirci

This is possible using Notification policies!

I would to start with directing you to the documentation on team policies.

Now let's get into how to create a notification policy to achieve delaying notifications unless the alert occurs 5 times within a 30 minute interval.

  • Navigate to a responder team that you want the policy to apply to.
  • Click on Policies on the left hand menu.
  • Click Add notification policy.
  • Configure the name, description and conditions for when you want this policy to be applied.
  • Tick Delay / Suppress
  • Select the last tick box which states "Delay notifications unless the alert is occurred time(s) in a time interval of 30 minutes".

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks,

Can you explain better how this works?  I have a notification policy matching an entity that I added to all alerts from a certain integration.  I have set it to suppress until I get 2 email notifications from that entity within 10 minutes.  I've also tried to have it suppress until the deduplication hits 2 and assigned an alias to the integration.  In every case I can see alerts being generated or the dedupe counter going up, but the notification policy never sends an alert.  If I disable the notification policy, then I get alerts immediately every time I send a test.  Enabling the policy with a counter of 2 for alias or entity matching just stops all notifications for the integration completely but still generates alerts within opsgenie.  am I running into a bug?  My notification policy is as follows:

Enable policy = green

match one of more conditions below: entity contains SafeSenders

Delay/suppress is checked>Delay notifications unless the alert is occurred 2 times in a time interval of 10 minutes is selected.

I know it's matching the integration and entity, because I don't get any alerts on my phone when this policy is enabled.
