Is it possible to have this work flow?
Alert comes into OG > escalate to different team > have OG send a slack message to that person on call.
Or a specific slack room. I know you can by creating an incident out of the alert with the configured integration, but we don't want to have to open a new ticket/incident to make the owner of the ticket a different team.
Hi Derek,
Opsgenie has a prebuilt integration with Slack that notifies a channel when an alert is sent to the same team the integration is configured under. So you don't always need to open an incident to have messages send to Slack: https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/slack-app-integration
^ Note this integration can only be configured to send to a Slack channel, and not a specific user.
As for "Alert comes into OG > escalate to different team" - I may need some clarification on this.
It sounds like when an alert is sent to Team A, you then want it escalated to Team B. This can also be done through a team's On-Call tab / escalation with something like this:
Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions, issues, etc.
Thanks! I actually figured it out. I did have your suggestions above already implemented, I was just adding responder to the escalation policy rather than the team as well, so it wasn't triggering in the slack channel.
Thanks for your help
