I setup an email integration for Redgate SQL Monitor, and while I'm successfully getting alerts, the Description is all raw html:
How do I get something more useful into the Description field?
hi @Sean Lively
I see you mentioned using an email integration to do this. We do have a fully fledged Redgate SQL Monitor integration within the platform:
https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/integrate-opsgenie-with-redgate-sql-monitor/
Have you tried using the integration? It has some dynamic fields which will allow you to easily build out the alert description exactly how you want it
I look forward to hearing back!

@Chris DeGidio I am using the Atlassian integration for Sql Monitor. The problem is you won't support HTML in the Description:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-14402
And Redgate won't send a plain-text email:
https://forum.red-gate.com/discussion/90942/alert-plain-text-emails
So there's no way to get the details from the alert into OpsGenie.

It should still be possible to format the alert exactly how you want. You should be able to pull things from the payload and build out what you want in the alert by following https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Opsgenie-articles/How-to-Extract-Custom-Fields-and-Data-into-an-Alert/ba-p/2133902
Please let me know if this is helpful and as always if you need individual help with your payload and how to pull it please submit a ticket at support.atlassian.com

@Chris DeGidio Thanks for the hint- the _parsedData contains a plain text rendering of the email in message, and it's way more readable for the alerts. Might be a good idea to adjust the defaults for new SQL Monitor <> JSM integrations.
It would be even better if Atlassian would revisit HTML in the Description.

@Sean Lively we do have some feature requests logged with the product team that you might be interested in following:

Thanks for the feedback as well. We appreciate it!
