Disable bi-directional intigration between Opsgenie and Jira Service

Shashi Reddy July 14, 2022

When I create an Opsgenie Alert through email integration, I do not want that to create a jira ticket. How do I disable this feature?

Hi @Shashi Reddy,

This is Darryl. I am here to help. 😃

Solution

Because every alert created by Email integration will have 1 property:

"Source": "Email"

So you may adjust the Alert Filter on your Jira integration like this:

"Match all conditions below"
"Source" | "NOT" | "Contains" | "Email"

In this way, every alert created by Email integration will not be pushed to your Jira to create tickets.

Hope this helps.

Hi Darryl,

I would like to have the Jira integration be one-directional, When a user creates a Jira ticket, an Opsgenie alert would be created automatically, and that is working as expected.

But the other way round, I never want a Jira ticket to be created when an Opsgenie alert is created via email or any other source. This option was actually unchecked so the Jira ticket is never created.

Based on your suggestion I have enabled it with the Alert filter, but that too did not help.
