I am using Maintenance policies for scheduled holidays and have corresponding alert policies that point to special escalation policies and/or on-call schedules. However, I would like to disable the on-call schedules (and possibly the escalation) that are not used during BAU. But I don't know if alert policies will use a disabled escalation and on-call schedule. I know could test it but I thought I would check if anyone knows.

Policies that route to disabled escalations or on-call schedules would not be used. You would see a message like this in the alert log:
