I don't see any option via the UI or API to have a Slack channel created automatically when an incident is created. Surprised this functionally doesn't exist, or does it and it's not documented?
The functionality does exist for creating a Slack channel for an Incident but you can only do so manually via thee UI, that you may find to be documented here: https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/connect-slack-app-for-incident-management/#Creating-and-adding-Slack-channels-to-an-incident
There is no automatic functionality as of now nor is there an API. However, we do have an internal feature request ticket for that to consider implementing this functionality in the future.

Thanks for the info @Muhammad Zeeshan - is there any way to get the same app experience you get from doing the 'create channel' into an existing channel?
For instance, if I'd already created a slack channel - can we get the opsgenie bot to show up with the same incident control panel in that channel vs having to create it from OG?

Its sad that this is not supported.

While our REST API is unable to automate the creation of Slack Channel, it is not however impossible automate the creation of a Slack Channel via Opsgenie
Our customer's admins will need to leverage Opsgenie Edge Connection via an Action Channel to automatically trigger a custom script which creates the Slack Channel.
A script however which leverages Slack API via OEC does not exist and would need to be developed by our customers, if a customer does not have the appropriate engineering resources to create such a script they can reach out to an authorized Atlassian Partner,

Please not creation of such a custom script falls outside the scope of Opsgenie Support, we can only assist in configuring and deploying OEC we cannot offer support to help create a custom script.
