Am I using the wrong product?

Russell Johnson March 29, 2024

I have OpsGenie working with Zendesk to alert when certain alerts come in from our Synology's and other events happen.

But now, we're changing from Zendesk to HaloPSA, and that isn't listed in the integrations.

I thought I could send notifications to Halo via email short term while I work on learning their API. But it doesn't appear I can just have Opsgenie send an email upon alert without that email being attached to a user.

Is this the wrong product?

Hi Russ,

This is Mona here, happy to help :)

As I understand, you would like to integrate Opsgenie with HaloPSA (currently, not an in-house integration), and you would like to send notifications from Opsgenie to HaloPSA, right? Please let me know if my understanding is correct.

You're right that to send out email notifications from Opsgenie, you need to add the HaloPSA email address as a user. This would send out user notifications to the destination tool.

However, if you would like, you can try connecting Opsgenie to HaloPSA using webhook integration. This will allow Opsgenie to send the alert description and details by selecting the related checkboxes and posting it to the Webhook URL endpoint of HaloPSA.

For detailed information on configuring Webhook integration, please refer to the below article:
https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/integrate-opsgenie-with-webhook/

I'm also attaching a HaloPSA article that might help you find the webhook URL endpoint:
https://halopsa.com/guides/article/?kbid=1718

Please try it out and let me know if this helps you achieve your use case. In case you have any further queries, please feel free to reach out to us by creating a ticket in this link, and we'll take it from there :)

Thanks!
Mona
