For those of you working with strict data privacy requirements, Edge Encryption might be a great solution when it comes to alerting and incident management.
Edge Encryption for Opsgenie encrypts your data so that Opsgenie never receives the raw payload directly. You host the encryption app in your own environment, the app bridges Opsgenie and 3rd-party tools. Alert details are only decrypted and displayed in your browser after you send a request to the encryption application.
When retrieving alert details via the Alert API, the API client sends the alert data to the encryption application, and retrieves it decrypted.
All alert fields except for alias, message, tags, and priority can be encrypted. Opsgenie requires these fields in order to route alerts. You also won't be able to use routing rules or policies on encrypted fields.
For more information on how to get set up, check out our documentation.
We also have a great blog post explaining how to use the Edge Encryption add-on.
