Getting to know Opsgenie, FAQs

What is Opsgenie?
Opsgenie is a modern on-call and alert management solution for operating always-on services. It enables dev and ops teams to stay aware and in control of alerts and incidents. Opsgenie at its core offers powerful alerting and on-call management and notifies the right people, at the right time, through email, phone call, sms, or mobile push. This video provides a nice overview, take a look!

Does Opsgenie with other Atlassian products? Which ones?
Opsgenie has deep integrations with Bitbucket, Jira, Jira Service Management and Statuspage.

Can I use Opsgenie with on-prem?
Yes! Opsgenie is a great modern incident management solution for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. Here’s a great blog post that discusses our integration with Jira Server and how that works.

What makes Opsgenie stand out?
Opsgenie receives rich payload data from your favorite ITSM tools and populates alerts with that information. This means that each alert has all of the information needed to take rapid action. Alerts are routed using content, source, and timing according to the on-call schedule, ensuring that the alert is never missed. Now as part of Atlassian portfolio, Opsgenie offers unparalleled value in the industry.

How does Opsgenie help me work faster and smarter?
Opsgenie removes the guesswork around alerting and incidents, you don’t have to wonder which alerts are important, where the alert is coming from, and who should handle the alert. Opsgenie fulfills your needs for the entire lifecycle of the alert and incident from alerting, to notifying responders and stakeholders, to incident response. Because the entire lifecycle is recorded by Opsgenie our reporting and analytics enable you to assess performance, resource allocation and more. We also have out of the box integrations with 200+ of your favorite tools, so you can get set and start consolidating alerts and notifications quickly.

Who is Opsgenie for?
Opsgenie is designed for Dev and Ops teams operating always-on services, we’re a solution for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. We offer plans to suit the needs of the smallest teams and larger enterprises. Thanks to our ability to easily notify both Stakeholders and Responders when necessary everyone is kept informed.

What if we have more than 5 users? Do we pay for the additional 5 Users?

Hi Ed, the free plan is for up to five users, so if you have more than five users and you were looking to implement Opsgenie, you would need to use a different plan.

But for the free 14-day trial, more than five users could trial Opsgenie. Hope that helps!
