How do you delete multiple backlog issues at once in 7.13?

Is there a way to mark issues in a backlog for deletion without having to delete them one at a time?

One way to delete several selected issues at the same time is by using a bulk issue edit operation. You can read about that here: Editing multiple issues at the same time, Atlassian Jira Core Support.
