Miscellaneous Monday - Favorite Vacation Spots

Happy Monday all!

I have been traveling around this week, and I was able to take a train ride through one of the most beautiful cities in California - Santa Cruz!

Fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons, and it's easy to see why with views like this:

I'm lucky to live somewhere that has such beautiful places to visit in a (relatively) short amount of time. California has beaches to the west, mountains from coast to coast, and stretches of gorgeous agricultural land in between.

While I love vacationing abroad, my heart belongs here and I never cease to be amazed by what can be found near or far.

I would love it if you would share some of your favorite vacationing destinations, especially my friends from overseas - are you a stay-cationer like me or do you enjoy more wordly adventuring?

I went to the Swiss Alps this summer and it was breathtakingly beautiful. One of my favorite places now, for sure. Also, thanks for making the trek to Santa Cruz for us @Meg Holbrook!

Was so much fun to meet everyone in person. Absolutely stunning photo @Leslie Lee!

Oh wow, enough to make anyone break out with singing "Climb Every Mountain"!

I spent a few weeks in Mallorca, Spain last summer and was so in love with it! I could easily vacation there all the time. The warm water, the great food, the lively cities, siesta culture. It's magical 😍Screenshot 2018-10-15 22.10.41.png

@BiancaE that looks so incredibly relaxing. I've lived on the west coast of the US my whole life, and have never seen water that blue or that warm.

@Meg Holbrook I'm a California girl, too, and these Mediterranean beaches totally win.

@BiancaE I forgot you mentioned that before! I have never left the country. I feel so sheltered! I have a friend who is a travel agent and she goes all over and makes fun of me for living in my bubble.

Every New Year I take the family to Franschhoek , South Africa for a couple of weeks. Such a relaxed and eventful location for anyone.

Franschhoek is known for its wineries, I especially love Grande Provence as it not only is an incredible winery, but an art gallery as well.

That's a beautiful photo @[deleted]. Reminds me very much of the Napa Valley here in California. What is the weather like there? I assume it's pretty temperate since they grow grapes (which are a very sensitive crop).

Hi @Meg Holbrook,

You are correct, very hot climate.

I need to visit Napa Valley, never been myself.

This is a timely post for me as I am on an extended vacation in Ocracoke Island North Carolina. I have been coming here every few years for nearly half a century. It is a place to unwind, chat with friendly people and catch/eat wonderfully fresh seafood.

Gorgeous @Jack Brickey! I hope you're enjoying your vacation and thank you very much for stopping by while you're relaxing :)

Hey, you forgot to send a picture of your champ hat at the ferry!

these pictures are stunning, @Jack Brickey!!

One of my favourite places for vacation is the area around Hvide Sande, Denmark. 20180927_162357~01.jpg20180925_084525~01.jpg20180927_160205~01.jpg20180927_160040~01.jpg

I love the overcast photos of the beach @Bastian Stehmann. Give me clouds and a cool breeze and I'm a happy girl. Thank you so much for sharing ^_^

I think Montreal's top of mind for me because: 1) I was just there; and 2) the people were so, so authentically nice. Greece is at the top of my to-do list. 😎

@Erica Moss - Beautiful photos as always, the rooftop is particularly wonderful.

San Antonio, TX has always been, and will always be, my favorite place to visit. I grew up going there every year as a kid... and it's as amazing as I remembered it. I love how busy it is cause it's a big city, and there's always something to do. I love that you can walk anywhere. I love that you walk along the river, and even tho it's busy at the same time it's very peaceful and beautiful. I would love to live right off the riverwalk.

Love this post! Looking back at my vacations over the years I think my favourite was Mexico. I was doing a Gratitude Blog that month, and it seemed that I was a sponge with all my five senses and soaked up every moment.

This was my favourite day:

And a couple of pics, to entice you to click on my blog post :)
