Friday Fun: The Great Outdoors

Tim Keyes Atlassian Team Sep 10, 2020

During the unprecedented times of COVID-19 and social distancing there has been a prominence placed on outdoor activities.  My wife and I are spending time in Bryce Canyon, Utah, to take advantage of being able to work remote, experience new things, and still maintain social distancing.

These are some of our recent pictures:

Please feel free to share pictures or stories from the great outdoors or your recent outdoor activities.

I have recently visited the Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Eduard County, Canada. Beautiful and peaceful beaches. Surprisingly, the water was warm enough to swim. With the safety standards in place and people respecting social distancing, we had a great time. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I go a lot to Scotland. A country where our heart is. We love the nature, the walks, visits of the castles, Haggis and of course the whisky :-D
We even got engaged there :-)

Hope we can go back soon when COVID-19 is more or less away.

That is fantastic!  I'd love to be able to visit something that this in person some day!

Fun fact: this is one of the most commonly photographed castles in scotland, and my ancestors used to live there!

I have been to here in 2016. Lovely memories.

Scotland is beautiful.

Maybe not considered 'great outdoors' but my fianceé and I love to do city breaks - Edinburgh and New York are our favourite so far

I've loved re-discovering the great outdoors in my own backyard over the past few months! I'm in Austin, TX so we've been hiking and swimming at the Greenbelt and doing nightly walks around the Town Lake Hike & Bike Trail.

We've had more rain than usual the past few weeks so everything is very green and the lakes are full!

A few months ago I schlepped to upstate New York and went hiking with friends. It had been years since I'd been hiking, and I felt it that evening. 😂

My wife and I took a short walk with a new friend while we were riding the Mineral Belt trail area in Leadville, Colorado a couple of weeks ago. :-P

I live on 88 acres of forested land in the pacific northwest of the USA, so life hasn't changed too much for us - we spend a ton of time enjoying and exploring our property hiking, mushrooming, foraging, floating the river, and just loving being in nature!

Gorgeous photos everyone! I also have been spending time in the great outdoors, hiking and biking, swimming, SUP and kayaking. I am planning a trip to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on Thanksgiving weekend (it is inside the Atlantic bubble so travel is not part o covid restrictions), for a hiking trip. It will be the perfect time to go as all of the leaves will be turning colour - they call it their most photogenic season :) I will be sure to take some photos, but here is the link for now:

Looks like the perfect place to wake up..

I finally took my long vacation for 2020 — two weeks for my biggest passions - cooking and hiking. I reached the 3 highest peaks in Bulgaria and a few others just for the fun of hiking :)

Sharing with you some of the views from the perspective of clean air and magnificent memories 💚

That is one of my favorite National Parks. When I moved from the East Coast to Colorado it was the first opportunity I've had for time unemployed since I began working at the age of 12. At 40 years old, I purchased my very first motorcycle, a Ducati Scrambler, sold all of my belongings, save what I needed for my trip, and headed off into the unknown. Previously I had traveled more internationally than within the US, so I took the opportunity of time off, provided by the move, to travel the US. My goal was to hit as many national parks as I could in the nearly 1 year that I traveled alone by motorcycle. I made it to more than 30 national parks, traveled more than 22,000 miles, and enjoyed seeing the country from coast to coast. Now that I've been settled in Colorado for about 2 years, I still make heading into the unknown in nature a part of my regular life. I now have a dirt bike, a few bicycles, and many adventure tales of awe-inspiring natural views and a few near death experiences. It's been a wild ride and I'm so grateful for the tremendous outdoor access I have available to me in my new home state. 42251815_10217060926972686_7992073490834391040_o.jpg42260142_10217060867531200_7075268444685336576_n.jpg51102560_10218103464915483_1935439781156618240_o.jpg53407636_10218392952392489_9212159165735108608_o.jpg79856707_10220804874209027_3309965749807742976_o.jpg70237077_10219968561301727_6179336973954580480_o.jpg

@Tim Keyes ahhh, Bryce Canyon, we've been there in September 2017 during our US National Park Road Trip. If I could, I will immediately go again... I'm sharing Yosemite NP, my favorite...

I liked very much traveling around east Iceland when I worked there. This one is the narrowest fjord: Mjóifjörður
