Hi @Cas Renooij and welcome
I started using Jira and Confluence in 2010. Since then I have been using it ever since wherever I go to stay organised and get work done. Can't wait to answer questions, provide insights and learn from others.
Seems we have more and more 'old timers' (when it comes to using Atlassian tools) joining here 😄
Welcome to the group @Johann Batt !
Hi everyone!
I've been working with Jira since 2009, starting with the Dragon Slayer project. In 2012, I led a transition from IBM Rational tools to Jira, and I've continued using Jira and other Atlassian tools ever since.
Hi @Bilal Mughal it's always good to have dragon slayers around, so welcome
Hi everyone!
I started using Jira and confluence back in 2017. Only a user for 3 years then I jumped to learning and courses and loved both tools. Happy to help anyone!
Hello,
I signed up for Jira because I’m looking for a simple and easy solution to manage the tasks of my sales and technical teams. I work for a company that resells IT equipment. I’m in this forum to find some help in mastering Jira effectively.
Regards
Hi @Patrick WAI KHAI SONE 👋 and welcome to the Community!
I'm pretty confident you'll find what you're looking for on Community forums. If not, you can always submit a question and people here are usually pretty quick to provide answers 🙂
Hello everyone. My name is Tolulope V. Omotoso from Nigeria. I am new to Jira. I first heard of Jira some weeks back when I started my journey in Software Testing learning. I am looking forward to getting a good grasp of this robust reporting and organization software.
Welcome Tolu! I'm also on a journey to software testing and automation, hope you are enjoying the course.
Welcome to the community and the Atlassian ecosystem @Tolulope Omotoso !
Hi @Tolulope Omotoso and welcome to the community.
You can learn more about Jira by looking at discussions, articles and questions here, but also head over to Atlassian University for some free training courses
I am new to Jira. Looking forward for help from this community. I work on JIRA Service management. Struggling with preparing dashboards and reports. All I have is the available reports.
@Suman Panda hi and welcome!
Regarding the reporting, yeah - these native functionalities are quite limited I would say. We usually implement some Marketplace solutions when it comes to reporting, but if you're on Enterprise plan I would also suggest checking out Atlassian Analytics. 👀
I am not new to Jira, but am new to this group. Have been using and administering Confluence & Jira since 2016. Love the power and integration between the tools.
Welcome to the group @Ted Nieblas
Thank you for the welcome message.
I first heard and started using Jira in 2010. I used it for an year and later moved to another tool. My second stint with Jira started in 2018 and using it until now.
My current engagement with Jira cloud is entirely personal and it is with the purpose of learning more about Jira administration.
Once during a team discussion, it was commented that "Let's create a Jira issue for that story." One of the team member (new to Jira) went on and raised a ticket to the Jira admin team instead of creating an Jira issue (story) in the tool. The "Jira issue" term is still confusing to many beginners.
Welcome to the group and to the Community @Suneesh ! 👋
I can related with this:
The "Jira issue" term is still confusing to many beginners.
as it was quite confusing for me too when I first saw the tool (although, that's been a while back).
For all those who are just starting with Jira (and for experienced users as well), I would highly recommend checking out Atlassian University (e.g., Get the most out of Jira) as Learning team is doing great job when talking about onboarding content for end users and administrators. 🙌
Hello everybody, greetings from Brazil!
I'm an Agilist since 2014 and I've been studying the Kanban Method since 2018 and improving myself every year. I've been using Jira since May/2023.
Welcome to the group @Fabio_Cabral
Hi everyone! I've been using JIRA for 2 years now.
Welcome @Juli Bourgeois
I started using Jira and Confluence in 2015 for plain task management and documentation.
In 2016 I started to use all the agile features as an Scrum Product Owner.
Thank you for joining us @Mike Maurer
Hi, i´m new here. Working about 10 Years with Jira.
Hi @Kai Krause and welcome to the group!
Hello everybody!
I am new to everything and here to learn, I started using Jira in 2024.
I am interested in using Tempo in Jira correctly for time reports.
I don't know how funny it is but the first time I got a ticket assigned to me took me a very long time to find it and read it.
@Mathilde Waringo Welcome to the community. I do not use Tempo so I have no tips to offer. I am sure someone will provide you information soon as the Atlassian Community is awesome at assisting new members.
Welcome @Mathilde Waringo ! 👋
I don't know how funny it is but the first time I got a ticket assigned to me took me a very long time to find it and read it.
Hah yeah - people often find Jira 'all over the place' first time they see it (myself included 😅). But, if end-user experience is simplified as much as possible, it usually leads to users seeing benefits of the tool(s) quite quickly.
As for Tempo, they do have quite extensive documentation and video collection which helped me quite a lot whenever looking at some unknown features or basic 'how to use' guides.
My Jira journey began in 2023, two years ago, when I was about to graduate and looking for tools that would truly enhance my career. I stumbled upon Jira, which was completely new to me. Initially, I tried to avoid it, but once I got the hang of it, I couldn't resist myself from using it.
I also started exploring other tools offered by Atlassian, like Confluence, which turned out to be quite interesting!
HI @Shivam Sharma you'll find there are always new things to learn about Jira, Confluence, etc some of which you can pick up from articles and discussions here, but also take a look at Atlassian University for free courses
Our company started to use Jira about 2 years ago and we started using it very quickly. It took a few attempts to get all things right, but using Jira makes us do more work!
@Josef Žáček Welcome to the community!

I started using Jira and JSM a little over a year ago, working in Scrum. I think I'm most interested in gaining more knowledge about JSM at the moment. I find those projects much more challenging to work on.
