Hello Everyone
We are new to Confluence and would like to add a layer of approval prior to publishing in order to ensure accurate content and uniform appearance of data that is being published. So far I have not been able to find a plug in that prevents a page/edits from being viewed before it is approved, they all seem to have available workflows to show approval, but everyone can see what's not approved anyways which could cause problems.
The workaround we've thought of is to allow users to create/edit pages and then share with their approver rather then publish, the approver can then review and publish on their behalf. The downside here is that we have to rely on people remembering to do this and everyone must have permissions to edit/add.
Curious if anyone else has run into this and if so what are you doing to manage it?
Thank you,
Nickey
Hi Nickey,
In addition to Comala Publishing (Thanks for recommending Maggie!), may I suggest that you consider the Comala Workflows family. It allows you to implement review and approval workflows so that people don’t have to remember the process and can focus on creating great content.
If you want to restrict access to unapproved content, Comala Workflows (server / data centre only) allows you to implement fully customisable access restrictions.
Hope that helps
James
