Limit comment and time tracking visibility by group?

In my projects I have multiple groups. There is one group that I don't want to be able to see time tracking logs or comments on issues. Is it possible to limit log and comment visibility to certain groups across an entire project, or even globally, so that I don't have to do it manually for each comment or work log? To do this would I need to create a custom script, or is it possible without one?

Hi Maxwell,

There is an add-on that you can use to hide or make fields read-only called Field Security Plugin for JIRA that you can try to see if that works for you. 

Since this is not a native function of JIRA I would also recommend you create a JAC ticket and post the link here when you're done so other members of the community can vote on the issue to add impact.
