How to get email notifications from Email This Issue Plugin

I have enabled Email This Issue on the cloud instance of my JIRA software, I am able to send Email's from the Email button in the Issue details Page. But not from Email Notifications, nor from Workflow Post functions, (i have followed the instructions to the word for setting those up) still they are not triggering.
