We have been using the JQL Excel add-in to get data from Jira - it has worked great.
Until today - it is now giving an error message saying:
"must set field "siteId" in request"
How do we fix this error to be able to retrieve data? Thank you
Hi @Lydia Kerr ,
A few thoughts:
1. This thread details the same issue that was happening for users last year. Some solutions are mentioned that you might want to check out: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Must-set-siteid-request-error-in-JQL-query/qaq-p/1982063
2. If those don't work, there was another case where the Excel add-in stopped working a couple of years ago. You might want to flag it to Atlassian, as they got an engineer to fix it: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Jira-Cloud-for-Excel-add-in-is-stuck-on-loading-splash-screen/qaq-p/1747154
3. Lastly, if you simply can't get it to work, there are spreadsheets that are designed to stay in sync with Jira (and allow for JQL). Visor is one such spreadsheet (which also has CSV export for Excel). This is an alternative to check out in the even you can't get this add-in to work: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226209/visor-flexible-spreadsheet-for-jira-roadmapping-bulk-edits?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
I hope you get a solution that works for you soon!
Best wishes,
Becky
I am not familiar with the Excel add-in, but it sounds that the HTTP request it sends to Jira is broken.
If I were you, I'd check:
These can help to better understand the root cause and whether the problem is specific to your own Excel or to your original site.
