How to send emails directly from Trello to your Crmble contacts using Benko

To celebrate the recent "official" launch of both BenkoBoard and BenkoDesk, I thought I'd share a new integration I created recently for one of my clients for whom I setup the wonderful new Crmble CRM for Trello.

In case you haven't seen the news, Crmble is a power up released recently that allows you to add CRM features to any Trello board, like this:

Once you've created your leads, they show up in a handy list view, with import/export functionality:

2020-06-29 at 12.16 pm.pngIn addition to all these fabulous features, anyone using either BenkoBoard (for their own email) or BenkoDesk (for shared email) can send an email to a contact directly from their Crmble card by simply posting a comment "@to crmble" like this:

The email will be sent using your Gmail account and will use the signature and primary account you have configured in Gmail.

Anything you send from Trello using Benko will show up in your Sent Items so you have both sides of the conversation in Gmail (rather than having to forward into a second system).

When the contact replies, their email will be added as a new comment to the same card, and you can simply type "@reply" to send a message back.

Benko can be used to do cc, bcc, attachments and forwards all from Trello cards, for any email, not just Crmble, and also integrates with Google contacts so after you've sent an email from the Crmble card you'll be able to send to the same contact later by name from any other card, eg. "@to Iain Dooley".

Benko also doesn't run as a powerup, it runs as a "behind the scenes" integration, so you can use it from your mobile phone or tablet, even though you can't see your Crmble fields from the Trello mobile apps.

If you'd like to give it a try you can sign up now at BenkoBoard for your own email (ie. an email address you don't share with your team) or at BenkoDesk for shared email.

I look forward to hearing your feedback!
