How to always display the denpendency when the source comes from one subtask of a collapsed Epic?

Apple August 3, 2021

Hi jira experts,

I'm using BigPicture to monitor my project and have one question about the dependency in Gantt module.

Basicly, considering one scenario that there is one dependency source comes from one subtask of an Epic. The problem is when I collapse the Epic, Gantt doesn't display the dependency anymore. It may be confusing that user may think there is no dependency at all. So is it possible to always display the denpendency?

The issue structure is like below:

  • milestone-0
  • Epic-0
    • story-0
      • subtask-0, "End to Start" link to milestone-0
      • subtask-1
    • story-1
  • Epic-1
    • ...

One solution may be like below:

From this picture, I can see that there is one dependency from one child issue of Epic-0, the link point also show me the child issue end at the middle of Epic-0.

Hi @Apple

Indeed, currently, dependencies are not visible when the source and target tasks are collapsed. However, it will change soon because works on the feature that will allow displaying out-of-view dependencies are already scheduled.

Have a look at the feature request: ONE-34433. Would you please follow the ticket to be up to date with the functionality progress? Please note that it is best to open the link in the incognito tab of your browser.
