Want to get the most out of a marketplace platform? Here’s a little secret.

Operating in a marketplace comes with its trade-offs. You sacrifice some control over pages, prices, and rules but gain significant benefits like increased visibility, access to a broad user base, and built-in trust from the marketplace's reputation. Marketing within an ecosystem can be challenging since you can’t control everything, and some changes are slow. However, Atlassian offers a mature marketplace where app vendors can make significant impacts with a few strategic efforts. Anyway, you know all this.

We also believe that sometimes, being restricted can spark great creativity. Constraints push you to think outside the box and find innovative solutions that you might not have considered with unlimited freedom.

So, of course, use high-quality images and clear descriptions for your marketplace page. But did you know that you can add two different images for the key highlight image? We’re here to let you in on that secret.

When you upload key highlight images, you first select the picture and then the zoomed-in section. You can change the first picture after selecting the zoomed-in section. This means you can technically have two different pictures and, hypothetically, you can add a “button” that says expand. Maybe that’s how we added our expand button for Git for Confluence.

Hi, @Dilara Erecek _Avisi Apps_ thats a great tip! There's another hack you can use with thumbnail (and main) images that not only enables you to add a different image for the thumbnail but also allows you to use a different image aspect ratio, for example, a square, vertical, or a wide image.

The trick is to drag-and-drop an image on the "Edit thumbnail" button.

The images are restricted only by width (560px), not the height. Vertical images end up looking too big.

The same drag-and-drop trick works for both the Screenshot and the Cropped image.
