As Nik says, you can't have project keys starting with numbers by default. But there is an option to change it. You can modify the

jira.projectkey.patter property unde Administration > General Configuration Advanced Settings to include the numbers etc.

([A-Z0-9][A-Z0-9]+) might be enough to get you started with numbers but you might want to check for atleast one letter in it!

Good catch Jobin - I was thinking we were talking about OnDemand where access to that page/making that change is a restricted function.

Hi Fabio,

I hope you don't plan on integrating with FeCru. There are some JAC you should consider if you do:

FE-4144 FE-3968 FE-4155 FE-4148!

Just to name a few.

Best to avoid customzing those keys even though you can as Jobin mentions above.

Unfortunately you cannot set up project keys with numbers. The full rules and guidelines for project keys:

You must specify a unique project key, at least 2 characters long, containing only uppercase letters.
This is the unique project key. The project key:
* should be short and descriptive, as it prefixes each issue in the project;
* should not contain sensitive information, as it may be visible to users who do not have permission to view the project;
* cannot be changed once the project is created.
