Hello,

for my understading, being a watcher of a ticket => jira notification when the ticket is modified (or new comment added)

we are going to active the email notification when a watched ticket is modified. but we are afraid of spam.

is it possible to tune the email notification ? for instance, email are sent only for some particular cases like only when we are assigned a ticket ? and no email sent when we only answer a comment inside a ticket ?

These are examples it could be other configuration.

or email notification can only be equivalent to the jira notification ? no way to tune the email notification ?

HI @ribas

Notification are sent based on the notification scheme, not if you are a watcher or not.

Specific notification can be defined in a workflow on post-functions.

So for updates on an issue in the notification scheme, all watchers option is specified.

See documentation, https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-notification-schemes/

Specific notifications can be done by using automation rules or specify certain people in the notification scheme

Hi @ribas

Our app Notification Assistant for Jira can help you with this scenario.

It allows you to customize and manage notifications independently of Jira's bundled notifications.

It includes features like fully customizable templates, where you can add custom fields, images, approval actions, etc., the possibility to create custom notification rules, notifying on your own changes, and more.

Feel free to reach out if this is of your interest.
