When will epic-links be replaced by parent-links in Jira Data Center

It appears that the transition from using epic-links to using parent-links to represent parent-child relationships from base items (stories, bugs, etc.) to Epics has been implemented in the Jira Cloud version... as-of Q3 or Q4 of 2023.

Is this change available in the Jira Data Center version yet?   If not, when will it be available in Data Center?

In the hopes of escalating the release/update on this for Data Center, I'm commenting! 

@Atlassian please help us Data Center folks out with IMHO would very much be a huge value add. Writing JQL that must accommodate 2 different yet functionally same link types is definitely an administrative burden that doesn't need to exist.

Side note, if there's a request ticket in with ya'll already that addresses this, would you be able to please provide a link to it so that we may add our votes for it? At this point, if that ticket exists and its not done "Gathering Interest" I would be shocked. This update, is a no brainer! Thank you for your time and consideration.

I do not think it's plan to do it on Data Center, at least not yet.

If you want you can already replaced Epic Link by Parent Link, Parent Link will not display Epic only but any type based on the configuration you have for Advanced Roadmap in Hierarchy Level.

I have begun to use parent-link, sort-of like you suggest.   We are definitely making more robust use of a customized hierarchy and new issue-types configured there-in... i.e., much to our benefit.   

We'll just continue to work-around the anomalies that we encounter for now.  

Maybe one day the epic-link to parent-link update will come to the Data Center version.  Keeping my fingers crossed... but will not hold my breath ;-)
