What Jira plugin should I install to create Issues via Jira Rest API?

Betsy May 22, 2019

I have a feedback form created for my project and I want to send the information to my Jira service desk project that will automatically create an equivalent Jira support ticket but I am not sure where to start.

I am seeing a lot of documentation and I'm a bit lost where to really start configuring.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Betsy

If your use case is to collect feedback and create a jira ticket, you could use 'issue collector' -> https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0713/using-the-issue-collector-964983621.html

If you want to want to use REST API and create tickets in JIRA, then the documentation is https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/jira-rest-api-examples/#creating-an-issue-examples

And a plugin that can help you to browse through the REST API calls is https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211542/atlassian-rest-api-browser?hosting=server&tab=overview . But this plugin is not actually required to create issues using rest api.. it is like a easy documentation within jira. Thats it.
