User keeps getting notifications from filter subscription

A user is being sent email notifications which I think should not be sent anymore.

  • user was subscribed to a filter, of a project in which there is no activity anymore
  • the filter itself was deleted. Mails were still being sent.
  • email address linked to user profile was changed. Yep, even now they're being sent.

In https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-7404 we can read in the comments of similar situations, it seems.

To be sure,

  • user is inactive and doesn't belong to any groups anymore.

According to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-3774  he should not be sent anything.

All in all it sounds like a bug.


The person doesn't work for us anymore so his email address doesn't exist anymore either. Failed deliveries return to our common JIRA mailbox, so this is where we see those errors coming in daily.

Any idea?

Id really like to find out if this is a bug as well. We have a filter where the subscriptions have been removed yet the users are still receiving them. Pretty annoying!
