Hi,
We want to upgrade temporarily using the free trial subscription to Jira Premium to test out the existing features. Our concern is that this might cause any risks on the data currently there on our platform and we would like to know whether any potential risks exist here.
We will be testing out the premium and then after trial ends, revert back to Standard until we take a decision on upgrading. Would that have any effect on the existing data on our Jira platform by any means? or even on the running environment for the team members? We don't want to disrupt the work done. Please advise. Thanks
Thanks a lot for the feedback. Honestly the intent is to test the advanced planning feature which would be done separately but using the existing projects data, so am assuming no harm in this right? By the way, what's your take on standard vs premium vs enterprise plans. What's the ROI you have experienced for PMs and general work. I would love to hear your feedback.

Hi @Mona Akkoush ,
Welcome to Community :)
there wouldn't be any data loss here when you revert to standard after trail ends
Only below points, you would have to note
- jira automation limit would be as standard back, so you need to make sure if you have set any high execution rule, the rules would get aborted
- If you downgrade from Jira Premium to Standard, do you lose the custom Hierarchy
- Any issuetypes higher then Epic would become standard issuetypes
- also archive feature is a premium license feature, e. And if you move to premium, then back to standard, you can still see the archived projects. But can't archive more projects
Thank you,
Prachi.

Hi @Mona Akkoush welcome to the community. Existing data won't be affected when you switch to Premium and then back again. Of course, you will not have access to any of the Premium features once you switch back to standard.
Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for the feedback Dan. We are aware of this. Basically, the intent is to test the advanced planning feature which would be done separately but using the existing projects data, so am assuming no harm in this right?
