Unable to exclude 'Group by' rows in formula total

I have a structure grouping by sprint that includes a formula which has Sum over sub-items, Exclude duplicates and After filtering checked.

I am expecting the sum to consider just the stories, but the formula is also including the 'group by' rows for the sprint.  The additional values display as gray numbers on the screen shot.

How can I exclude the group by rows from my formula?  They are marked as duplicates, but the 'Exclude duplicates' flag does not change the result.

Hello @George Kukich

It looks like the formula is producing the numbers for groups you want to exclude. The greyed-out numbers displayed in the same column next to regular black values indicate the own values of each object, i.e. the scratched grey 1.0 is the own value of the group, given by the Formula.

It's hard to recommend anything specific without seeing the formula in full, but perhaps simply excluding all groups from the calculation (so only aggregated values would be displayed for them) might help. You can do it by adding the ...and issuetype condition - this way the custom values will be assigned only to issues and groups/folders and other non-issues will not be considered.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance here, please reach out to our support portal as Valerie already suggested, and we'll take a more detailed look at your setup.

Best regards,

Hi @George Kukich , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.

I have a few questions for you.

First, have you checked out the product documentation? For Structure, I know they have some really useful information and worked examples in there https://help.tempo.io/structure-dc/latest/

I have also tagged this question for you with some labels that will hopefully get some more structure eyes on this.

Finally, if you're really stuck, I always encourage people with a paid license to reach out to the vendor for support as it's what they're there for - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/34717/structure-by-tempo-jira-portfolio-management-ppm

Best wishes
