I have two Jira software projects where I want to enable linking issues to GitHub PRs and branches. I've installed the GitHub for Jira app in my organization and I can see the Development issue field and Code tab in one of my projects. However, for the other project, neither of these are visible; this is the project I'm having issues with.
I've checked that I enabled the Code feature on the project. When I click the "Configure" button in the Settings > Features page, I just get redirected to the Board view. It seems as though the Code tab is completely inaccessible for this project.
Originally, this project was a business project, but I imported it into a new Kanban project using the new project import experience. Maybe this is causing the issue?
Can anyone help me fix / troubleshoot why the Code feature isn't working?
Hello @Wilson ,
Welcome to the community :)
I understand you are unable to see the code section in the left panel.
Could you please navigate to project settings > features and see if code is enabled?
Once this is enabled, you can click on the configure button and it should directly take you to the code panel and also it would be visible in the left panel.
Thank You,
Prachi
Hi Prachi, thanks for the welcome!
Yes, I have already enabled the Code feature on my project. When I click the Configure button, I get redirected to the Board panel.
Actually, I just got the new navigation sidebar today, and now I can see the Code tab.
However, when I click on it, I briefly see a "We can't find the page you're looking for" message, then I get redirected to the Board panel.
Please let me know if you need more information to investigate on your side.

Hello Wilson :)
Thank you for the reply.
Tested on my end and works fine with the new jira issue as well.
Could you please navigate to project settings > access and see if you have the permission > Access development tools for the role you have in this project and also double check if code is enabled in features here
If all looks fine then please raise a ticket to https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ so that team can further investigate this
Thank You,
Prachi

Thanks for the further steps, Prachi.
I'm unable to customize roles and check the specific permissions my role has because I'm on the free plan. However, I do have the default Adminstrator role which I assume grants all permissions.
Also, I'm unable to raise a support ticket, again because I'm on a free plan.
From my own further testing, I'm convinced that this is a bug with Jira. Here is a minimal reproducible flow, if you'd be willing to verify on your end or pass it on to the technical team:
Toggling the Code feature off then on doesn't fix the issue either.

Hello, Good day. As the new project is company company-managed Kanban board, this should work fine. Please go to project settings >> permission and make sure you "Administer project" and "View development" permission. Thanks

Thanks for your quick response. The project is actually team-managed. I don't see a Permission settings page, but I do have the Administrator role.
This is what my project sidebar looks like:
There's a Development section and page, but no Code page.
