[UP] The ranking feature works randomly on Kanban board

Lucas Lombardo

Hello, I would like to call on the community again, as my problem is still ongoing...

Context: we are using a Kanban board for which ranking feature is enabled - "ORDER BY Rank ASC" in the filter query - "Using Rank" appear properly in board configuration.

Issue: over the last months I've sometimes been able to move items correctly and classify them within a column, according to their rank, and sometimes I can't do it any more. If this happens, I get an error message telling me that the ranking feature isn't activated even though no one has modified the board configuration and ORDER BY Rank ASC is still in the filter.

It also happened to some members of my team. The behaviour then seems random.
Sometimes it works for me and not for other member of the team...at the same moment.

Has this ever happened to you?
Is this a bug that has already been reported?

Thanks and have a great day.

HI @Lucas Lombardo

I have never experienced this.

What is the source of your board, a single project or multiple projects?

Are you also using Plans, are the projects and or board part of a Plan?

Do all users have "Schedule Issue" permission, in al projects if the board contains issues from multiple projects

Hi Marc,
- The board comes from one single project
- We are not using Plans
- Users who tried to rank issues have the Schedule Issue Permission (in most cases me and the product owner of the team)

Hi @Lucas Lombardo

Does this occur in other projects as well, or just in this project?

If it only occurs in this project it seems like an issue related to the backend of you instance, related to this project.

If this is the case, raise an issue at https://support.atlassian.com/contact/

A Product Owner from another team and project told me it happened to her too.

Thanks anyway, I will raise an issue!
