Trouble Updating card to add a field in backlog view & different field in Kanban (Company managed)

Hello! I hope you are all doing great. I'm back with another issue that popped up while training Jira. I am instructed to:

Update the card layout to add a field in backlog view and a different field in Kanban board.

I figured this is set up in the board configuration screen as such (By the way, the fields I am adding to one or the other board are random; I have tried adding others like last seen or sub-tasks with the same results):

The problem is that when I hit save, neither of the fields are shown in one or the other boards. I tried adding the fields to the project settings – issue layout section, but then it will show both fields on both boards. Thank you so much in advance!

It sounds like a caching issue, maybe. Did you try clearing your cache and/or logging out and back in again?
