For a company we use the Data Center Licence of Jira and Confluence and we urgently need an automated option to translate Jira issues (comments, description, fields etc.) and Confluence pages already created as well as for all that will be created in the future. We already work with DeepL Pro but this is way to inconvenient.
What are options (tools, functions, apps etc.) that we could use? I'd be glad for some hints.
Hello Charly,
I'm afraid there is not one app for both products in the Atlassian Marketplace.
This app offers auto-translation via DeepL for Confluence Data Center. This seems to be the only auto-translation app for Jira Data Center, but you can only use Baidu or Microsoft Azure. The question is whether the company does not have any sensitive data in both products and it is therefore not a problem to send data to 3rd party for translation.
It should also not be forgotten that most browsers come with a translator. In the case of Jira or Jira Service Management, users can have the issues displayed in translated form in the browser themselves.
Usually, you want to be able to check whether the Confluence content has been translated as desired and whether the information content is still correct. Letting the user translate this content in the browser is perhaps less desirable or sensible. You need to clarify with the company what kind of content is offered and whether or not it is desirable to maintain control over the translated content.
You may find other alternatives by searching the Marketplace for the desired product and hosting, but that do not come always with an auto-translation option.
Kind regards,
Mattia
