×Test Case importer - Jira mapping fields with csv file, I have a assignee field in the csv and trying to map it to jira field "Assignee Name".
But this is not mapping and throwing an error
Hi @Vin Madimetla - weolcome to the community,
Could you give some more details please? Are you importing into another project or even another site?
Is the customfield_10004 the field "Assignee name"? what type of field is it?
Regarding the error message my first guess would be that the there is a "Create Screen" configured in the project and the field is not available on that screen. Could you please check this (if you have admin rights)?
Thanks in advance.
Best
Stefan
Hi @Stefan, thank you for responding.
I am trying to import into another project (company managed) created new just for this UAT. Earlier we did in Team managed.
If the error is Assignee related, then I got it fixed by using names from our MS teams (extracted names from their profile to be exact and not have any spaces etc).
I am not sure what was the issue, probably it some values at additional spaces or incorrect names when i typed.
Yes this was probably this field. The upload was accepting some names from some issues (tests) but throwing on other issues (tests).
Thank you
Vin M

Hi @Vin Madimetla , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
My advice to make an import work, of any type, is always to start with an export. In your case, the field Assignee, in the cloud, is not like it was in Jira server (if you've ever used that) where you can just import the username and you're fine. In cloud, you are looking for the account id of the assignee, which, if you start from an export, you will be able to see. I think this is likely what the issue is, that you might be trying to map a text field, assignee name, onto the assignee field, which is looking for another type of information.
I hope this helps you but if you have other questions, please write us again here.
Best wishes

thank you for the response, Yes that's correct.
Was trying to map Assignee from import file to "Assignee Name" in Jira. This is was on the TEST SCREEN.
But how ever, It the import was successful for some Assignees and error for some names.
Si I went into MS and copied all the exact names in an excel and then loaded them in to the import for each test. Then it successfully worked.
No issues now.
However, the export idea seems to be a good work around.
Thanks
Vin
