Sum of story points by status

We would like to have sum of story points based on statuses on the Dashboard can do this without plugin ? If so what are the steps involved in achieving this

Hi Srinath,

one guy of the team behind sumUp here :) Are you on cloud or server? 

Your use case can be easily achieved either way and maybe also have a look at the existing documentation for both platforms. Just create a sumUp rule for the Story points custom field, add a sumUp gadget (some info on the available gadgets) to your dashboard (Two dimensional or Filter for example) and group by status. On cloud just using a gadget should do the job. See the configuration of the gadgets and the final result on server below:

do you have the same use case as Srinath? Do you want to see story points grouped by statuses?

If yes, what has already been said in this thread is still valid! :) sumUp for Jira offers a set of gadget and one of them is the "Grouped Filter Results". See an example screenshot of the gadget and configuration:

Or do you want to display the sums someplace else in Jira? I'm sure we can find a solution for that as well. Just let us know.

You need code (i.e. some form of add-on) to do this.

That can do it, but there's also scripting add-ons, reporting add-ons and other field add-ons that might do it.

I'd use ScriptRunner, but I'm biased because I work there and hence use it for everything.
