Hi
My project is using a simplified workflow so when I set the status to done it sets the resolution to done.
I want to be able to use the simplified workflow but select a resolution.
So when I drag my issue to the done column the issue would open up and I would select the resolution.
Can I do this with simplified workflows?
Sort of.
Technically, all you need to do is edit the workflow. A simplified workflow is actually no different to non-simplified ones underneath, what the flag does is allow the board admins to add status and automatically update all the rest of the stuff that they need with it.
So, you can edit. Go to the transition "All -> Done". Remove the post-function that sets the resolution and add a transition screen, one that includes the resolution.
But... if your project admins change the workflow again, they can destroy that change very easily, and without warning.
So, don't edit simplified workflows, or, get them right, get the board admins to nail down their process and then de-simplify the workflow (apply a workflow scheme that uses it) and then edit away.

Hi

Hi again
ok I know how to add a transition screen
all I see is operation type Create, Edit and View
Should I not see operation type Resolve?
So I picked edit and selected screen Resolve issue screen
But that doesn't work because everytime I edit an issue its asking for the resolution
How do I get the resolution screen to appear only when I resolve the issue and not ask for resolution on edit?

Wendy will have set up a "resolution screen", separately to the "edit screen"

Sorry!! I should have wrote exactly how I fixed it in February because now I can't remember!!
I'm sure its like Nic said. I added a resolution screen.
Create a QA project that you can play around with and do some tests. That's the easiest way to figure it out and learn at the same time.
The transition needs to open the resolve screen

First, create a resolution screen in "Screens" that just has the resolution field
Then
Edit your Transition (Closed in my case) and select your transition screen from the Transition view drop down

We're getting this error trying to set Transition View on simplified workflow:
Blocked form submission to 'EditWorkflowTransition.jspa' because the form's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-forms' permission is not set.

Yes you can add a screen to the transition into the "Done" status. In that screen you will include the Resolution and make required if you wish.
