Salesforce Comments - Copying them as Comments or Receiving Notifications for New Comments

To Whom That Can Help,

 

My company is in the midst of tightening up our integration between Salesforce and JIRA. We are all extremely excited about the possibilities. However, we have one roadblock that we cannot seem to solve – salesforce comments. We love that the Salesforce Comments shows up on the Jira issues but we want to surface those comments more to the people attached to the Jira issue. We looked at creating an Automation trigger for every time a Salesforce Comment is created but we could not find that option in the Automation rules in Jira. We looked at sending slack notifications for any new Salesforce Comment that comes into the Jira issues; we could not find that either. We even looked at the possibly of simply copying the Salesforce Comments text into a Comment on the Jira Issue itself.

 

You might be thinking, why not send notifications to the people attached to the Jira issues when it happens in Salesforce? Right now, we have our client focused business working out Salesforce and our product and software teams working out of Jira. We are aiming to not require everyone to have a login for each system to make their workflow as simple as possible.

 

In summary, our ultimate goal is to notify our Jira users about these Salesforce Comments in some capacity.
