Restore error Jira cloud to data center

I installed Jira data center to perform test operations with a cluster structure with 2 nodes in Linux operating system. If I remember correctly, the version of this should be 9.2.2. I want to transfer the backup from Jira Cloud to the Data Center by performing a restore operation. While doing this, the process remained at 92% (updating data latest version) for hours. When I cancel the restore and want to access the Jira Data Center again, I cannot log in with the previous login credentials nor with the sysadmin login credentials.

When I logged in with sysadmin it gave “permission” error. What do you think this issue may be caused by? Has anyone performed this process and received the same errors?

Thank you.

@Berat Altunhan

The very first step should be Jira Datacenter has to have the latest version because Cloud has always higher version than DC.

Also there are steps involved to migrate from Cloud to DC.

let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @Fadoua ,

I understand that I need to install with version 10.0.1.

I follow all the steps in the documentation and the restore is successful. But when I want to log in with the information given in step 5, “change the admin password” (as a sysadmin), it shows the error “you dont have a permission to log in”. Therefore, I cannot log in to the jira data center that I have installed.

Do you think this problem occurs because I haven't installed the latest version?

Hi @Berat Altunhan

Your issue is definitely not happening because you didn’t install the latest version.
let me find a link that may be useful in this situation.

Hi again @Fadoua

I installed the jira data center trial version with the latest version and added the “jira-export.zip” file from the jira cloud trial version to the restore area.

My question will be at this stage;
1. Is the “SEN” we need to enter when taking backup via Jira cloud important? Could I be making a mistake here?
2. Is there any obstacle for me to perform these backup and restore operations in Trial accounts?

After starting the restore process, the restore completed successfully. But when I log in with sysadmin again, I get the error in the screenshot. When I check the database, I see that the sysadmin user is in the admin and system administrator group.
