Is there any Add-On for Jira, which allows me to schedule issues on a calendar view based on a custom measurement resp. estimation parameter? I'm not speeking of "hours" or "story points" but e.g. "pieces" or "amount of issues".
My goal is to use Jira for production planing and controlling of machine capacity, where I can schedule the jobs and have an overview on how much capacity the machine has on every day.
The functionality of Tempo Planner seems promising to me, except that everything there is based on time units and meant to be used for human resources. What I like there is the scheduling of Issues and the time capacity available for each team member in the top of the calendar
Lookin' forward to your ideas!
Marvin
I'm Nataliya from ActivityTimeline team. Taking into consideration your requirements it seems like our add-on fits your request.
ActivityTimeline provide a list of features for capacity planning where you can schedule tasks on employees or machine. If you use Jira accounts as a machine you can calculate capacity by workload (hours)or by number of issues.
Indicators will display machine's workload based on number of scheduled issues. You can set maximum number of issues, track the progress and create resource utilization report.
If you have any additional requirements please feel free to ask me. We can provide a demo session for you if needed.
Best, Nataliya
@Nataliya Vasyliv_Reliex_, thanks for your reply. Is it also possible to set a custom measurement unit, besides hours and number of issues?

@Marvin Brand on timeline dashboard there are hours (workload/worklogs/availability) and number of issues only. For other measurements, you can use custom fields and track projects with timesheets and reports.
I hope I answered your question. You can take a trial of ActivityTimeline and check if it fits you. I’m available if you need help with this.

Hey again @Nataliya Vasyliv_Reliex_ ,
Another question accured: With Tempo Planner you can define Workload Schemes and assign them to individual users, but only in the system configuration as a fixed set of available hours per week.
We need more flexiblity and want to individually change the available workload on a daily basis and if possible on the fly (not as a repetitive scheme).
Is ActivityTimeline capable of doing this?

Yes, that is possible with ActivityTimeline app.
You may define a global Workload of hours per day, Workload Scheme that could define custom available workload per week day and you may utilize custom event type called "Overtime" to adjust the available workload in specific days.
For example, you can create a Workload Scheme with 0h available workload per each week day, and then create an "Overtime" event on users' timeline to define how many hours they should work on a specific day or period of time. Also, you may rename "Overtime" event type into something more meaningful to you like "Work Shift" or "Capacity".
Here is more information on "Overtime" event for users.
Thanks,
Nataliya

You'd be able to use Advanced Roadmaps to complete resource and capacity planning. It comes out of box with Jira premium but if you're on Jira standard, this means upgrading.
Advanced Roadmaps would be able to help create roadmaps and gantt charts though, so that's also another useful feature that you get with AR.

Hi @Jacob Vu , thanks for your input. I'm afraid Advanced Roadmaps won't help, because I need to arrange issues on a daily / weekly basis in a calendar view, such as Tempo Planner.
