Hi Atlassian community,
We would like to request assistance in implementing a custom workflow rule in our Jira Cloud instance. Below are the requirements:

Current Workflow:
Expected Behavior:
We would appreciate your support in guiding us through the process of configuring this rule or any suggestions you may have to achieve this functionality.
Hi @Vyshnavi S
First, what have you tried to solve this need?
If you have an automation rule and it is not working as expected, please post images of the complete rule, the audit log details showing the rule execution, and explain what is not working as expected. Those will provide context for the community to offer better suggestions.
If you have not started a rule, I encourage you to try to do so. Successfully using automation requires learning and experimentation. When one just uses rules created by others without understanding them, they will be unable to maintain them.
To get you started on creating your rule, please refer to these documentation and example sources:
For some additional tips, your rule could be triggered on changes to the Description or Summary fields. Then it could use a condition to check the Status to decide if the issue should transition back to the earlier point in your workflow.
Regarding resetting back to the earlier assignee, that may require saving the value of that assignee in a custom field for later use.
Kind regards,
Bill
