Hi
I have added the Parent Link Column to a filter, but the column is blank. I definitely have parent links in my issues
What am i doing wrong - I'm very new!
I assume you are using Issue Navigator and using Parent Link in your JQL and you want to see the Parent Link field values for the issues shown in the Issue Navigator.
For that, you have to add Parent Link field using Columns dropdown, which is on the top right corner. Once the column Parent Link is added, the issue results will show the Parent Link field values as another column
Please refer to the below screenshot:

Hi Ravi
Yes that is correct
I have added the column and its blank. Same thing happens if I add Parent Link to Agile cards. It shows "none'.

Hi @Louise Mitchell ,
Can you post screenshots of the view issue page of the issue that you are looking and the issue navigator screenshot highlighting the issue that had parent link on view issue page but not showing under parent link column.
Based on that, I can help you.

You should be using linkedIssue in the JQL

Thanks Ravi - that works :)
Do I need to set up the issue in a different way to get the parent link to populate?
I am using parent links as I could not work out how to make existing task issues part of an Epic

Hi @Louise Mitchell ,
You should be using Epic Link, in case you want to add stories/tickets to an Epic

Hi Ravi
I am setting up new issues tasks through Epic link, but I am trying to organise quite a large collection of issues that have already been raised and cant work out how to make them link to an Epic.
If you can tell me how to do that it would be so much easier :)
thanks

Hi @Louise Mitchell ,
First Solution
On the Issue Edit screen, you should make sure that Epic Link field is available.
Refer to the below screenshot, where you can select one of the available Epics on the Edit Issue screen
Second Solution
Go to the agile board, backlog screen (click on Epics) as shown in the below screenshot and drag and drop the tickets in backlog to the desired Epic. I would prefer this way, as it is easy and intuitive. You can even create new epics on the fly.
Hope this is what you are looking at.

YAY!
Solution 2 works
All i need to do is move the issues back to the backlog and I can drag and drop them in
Thank you Ravi!
