My gmail address is linked to the apereo jira account somehow, and I can't unlink it

C. Demers March 17, 2024

When I log into the Atlassian platform using my personal gmail email account, I have my own bitbucket, my own Trello, but somehow jira and confluence are those of Apereo, and I can't get my own, it always goes back to Apereo's account! I search all menus and there are no mention of Apereo except that I always fall back to their atlassian account when using jira or confluence.
FYI Apereo is a company that works on an SSO protocol called CAS, I know the product but I'm not working for them.

Hi @C. Demers

Do you have access to their instance? Perhaps you have access as a customer under a Jira Service Management portal?

I'm not sure what you are referring to by "instance", but I can see their Confluence, their Jira tickets. For example I have access to:

https://apereo.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/PBOOK/issues

https://apereo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SEN/overview

Could it be because my gmail user doesn't have access to any other Jira (instance?), and so it's sends me right into the only one linked to my gmail account which happens to be Apereo? If I register my user in another Atlassian product plan, I could then switch between them?

Thanks!

Hi @C. Demers

Yes - if your personal gmail has access to their instance (at some level), then it will default to them if you have no other Jira/Confluence instances.

If you had access to another instance of Jira and Confluence, then it would show multiple options for product instances to access.
