Moving JIRA to a new server - license issue

Hi, when trying to move our JIRA instance to a new server by installing a new instance, the license key must provided. Using the JIRA server key from myAtlassian (expired February, 15th 2024) we get the message "We're unable to confirm that Jira license". 

Any help will be highly appreciated!

The tag on your post indicates you are using v9.12.9.

Is that the version you were using on the original server, or a newer version?

A Server license is perpetual. Even though your license is expired you should be able to install it. However, you can only use it with a version of the product that was released before the license expiration date.

According to this page 9.12.9 was released in June 2024, which is after your license expired. Based on that page you should be able to use the version 9.12.4.

There are 9.13 and 9.14 versions that were released before your license expired, but those are only for Data Center so you can't use them.

Now I have an issue also while updating my current server to v9.12.9.

My understanding is, that all minor versions of v9.12.x are LTS and bug/security fixes are included. Starting with v9.13.0 only datacenter licenses are maintained.

So, if I understand you right, you´ll say that starting with v9.12.4 (2024 Feb. 12th) no security updates are provided?

What is the problem you are having with updating your current server, with the expired license, to v9.12.9?

 

Addressing your question about security updated and bug fixes, as per this document

"As of 23:59 AEST on February 15, 2024, Atlassian and Marketplace Partners no longer provide technical support for any issues, security updates, or bug fixes for critical vulnerabilities. Regular security updates help protect your business from threats and vulnerabilities, so we recommend moving to our Cloud or Data Center products as soon as possible."

So, security updates and bug fixes for ALL versions of Jira Server have halted.
