Jira Product Discovery - External User Doesn't Have Full Project List

Hello!

We are starting to use JPD, but our external users (set up as Contributors) don't have some of the projects in their project list.

  • I've checked global permissions, but don't actually see one that controls project viewing/browsing.
  • Projects not showing are Open

What else do I need to check, or what setting controls that? We've got external users that are going to have access to multiple JPD  projects, and if they can't find them from a list, we're going to have a hard time getting buy-in from them.

Thanks!

Kaitlin

Hi @Kaitlin Madsen

It's essential to note that those set up as Contributors have limited access compared to Creators.

  • To ensure seamless collaboration, review project-level permissions for each JPD project and verify that the external users' group or role has at least "Browse Projects" permission.
  • Additionally, confirm that external users have been granted access to JPD correctly through User Management > Directory.

Finally, ensure that project visibility is set correctly, allowing the projects to be visible to the appropriate groups or roles, typically found in the project's configuration settings.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
