It says I don't have manage sprints permission to start a sprint.

My account was manually added under the manage sprint to the admin role, even though it already had it listed at the project role level. I'm able to edit and make status changes to the JIRA tickets, so I don't understand why my account is still blocked from starting a sprint. Thanks!

Hello Federico

As @Amanda Barber highlighted, if your board contains multiple projects and you miss manage spint permission in one of them, you will not be able to start the sprint.

There are couple of ways to identify this.

1) Check the board filter. If it has something similar to

Project in (ABC, DEF)

or, other formats, such as assignee or particular custom field value

project = ABC AND customfield_112233 = ABC

then there are multiple projects involved and you need to check your permissions in each one of them.

Now, it can also throw you a curve ball. Your board filter might be pulling issues from onle one project, but you may still miss access. This happens when other project issues are added to your sprint. The way to identify this is to run a filter to display all your sprint issues.

sprint = "<sprint name>"

Check the issues returned. If you find any issue from a different project added, that might be your culprit.

Your board might not display this issue in sprint as the board filter will discard this particular issue(s) from being displayed.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Federico Pasumbal - does this board contain multiple projects? There's a support article that might help - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-manage-sprints-permission-for-advanced-cases/
