Issue participants in permission scheme?

Can I use the issue participant field in a permission scheme? It's not showing up right now under any of the drop down boxes in the scheme in question. Do I need to change some other configuration to get it to show up? It is enabled globally across all of our JIRA projects.

Not possible I think because the user custom fields list is only showing those fields that are UserCFType or MultiUserCFType.

So unless the participants field were to extend MultiUserCFType, which it does not atm, then it won't show it.
